Held at the Island County Fairgrounds in langley (meet outside of the 4-H Building for all workshops)

Join the fun – learn from the wise, wonderful and fun Chautauqua troupe members– as well as a few of South Whidbey’s finest! Bring the kids, mom and dad, grandma and grandpa or your next door neighbor for an afternoon of fun and learning – all workshops are FREE! Bring along a dish to share, an instrument and a blanket for the community potluck that begins after the workshops!

Community Quilt Making – help make quilts for local infants in need with the Chautauqua quilters
Juggling with the Chautauqua Jugglers – What comes up must come down!!
Native Storytelling with David Ortiz. Old tales made new with coyotes and flute
GPS Workshop – everything you ever wanted to know about using a GPS unit on land and sea!
Mask Making with Robyn Albro - A few feathers, jewels, imagination and VOILA! A magical masterpiece!
Knot Tying with Port Townsend youth aboard 67-foot SEA vessel “Indigo” – meet at 4-H building for shuttle to boat!
Worm bins with Anza – create a worm bin with one of our local gardening experts!

Song Swap with Chautauqua’s Faith Petric - Pass the guitar around and share song. Bring instruments and tunes!
Hula Hooping with Vannesa Vortex Make your own hoop and learn some funky moves!
Puppet Show with Steve Horstmann and Claribel Gross —Watch a show and make your own puppets
Salish Sea History with expert John Cloud - Learn from a NOAA geologist with a passion for sailing!
Haute Trash Fashion with Robin Worley - You’ll never look at your garbage the same way again!
Sea Chanteys with Port Townsend youth - Songs of life and lore of the sea
Didgeridoo with South Whidbey’s own Bob Effertz – learn about and play this unique and amazing instrument!

Samba drumming with the Chautauqua drummers - Learn exciting rhythms and be in the parade
Fun with Mandalas with local art expert Sarah Manchester – learn about the history of mandalas throughout cultures and times and make some of your own!
Clowning with Chautauqua’s Hacki and Moeppi Physical Comedy — it’s more than red noses and great big shoes…
Dazzling Fairy Workshop – learn abut the magical world of the fairy and make some of your own!
Nautical Storytelling – mostly true tales of the sea with Port Townsend Youth!
