7/20 Update:
The Langley NOTC event is covered in latest South Whidbey Tilth Newsletter:

Printed tickets are now available at the following retail outlets: Island Coffeehouse & Books (Langley), The Beach Cabin (Freeland), and Rockhoppers Cafe (Clinton).

On Thursday, July 31, The New Old Time Chautauqua will be in Langley

Come clown around. March in a sidewalk parade. Compose a sea chantey. Learn how to juggle. Or just enjoy the show. The New Old Time Chautauqua is coming to town and we want you to join in the fun!

For over 25 years, this traveling troupe of volunteer performers has delighted audiences with their combination of entertaining vaudeville performances and workshops. This summer they are sailing around the Puget Sound as part of their island-hopping Aqua Chautauqua tour.

On Thursday, July 31, they will leave the Langley docks and parade through the sidewalks, led by a marching band. In the afternoon, the performers will host a series of free workshops at the Island County fairgrounds, followed by a potluck dinner that is open to the public. At 7pm they will perform a vaudeville show in the Langley Middle School auditorium. Tickets for the evening performance are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 12 and seniors over 65.

Community involvement is the cornerstone of NOTC. While a traveling group of 30-60 volunteers performs at each stop, local artists, poets, musicians, and otherwise adventurous individuals are invited to participate. Whether your skill is playing the trumpet, hula hooping, or simply expressing yourself, we want you to be involved. Proceeds from the event will benefit The South Whidbey Commons and South Whidbey Tilth, two local non-profits who are combining forces to bring NOTC to Langley.

Tickets are currently available online through:

Printed tickets are also for sale at Island Coffeehouse & Books (Langley), The Beach Cabin (Freeland), and Rockhoppers Cafe (Clinton). Stay tuned for more information including the full workshop schedule and performer list.
